The sun is finally out again and it’s the perfect time to get outdoors and experience some great events close to you! This weekend, June 16 – 17, the Thoreau Ramble is happening at the historic Walden Pond in Concord. Hikers can join park staff at the Thoreau house for a fun and informational program about Henry David Thoreau and his stay at Walden Pond. The half-mile hike is intended for visitors of all ages and experience levels seeking an interesting morning or afternoon at Walden Pond! There will be two program offerings this and every Saturday and Sunday during June, one morning session from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and an afternoon session from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Hoping to get the kids outdoors this weekend? Don’t miss the program Explore Nature: Ponding at Borderland State Park in North Easton, June 17 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Children and families will have the opportunity to use nets and buckets to catch some of the critters that live in Leach Pond. After capturing some interesting critters the kids will have the chance to do their own water quality testing of Leach Pond to learn about the habitats of the Pond critters. Don’t forget to wear shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting a little wet.  Don’t miss out on the discoveries and join other curious families at the Park Visitor Center this Sunday to take part in this unique educational opportunity!

Looking to add some outdoor adventure to your work week? Look no further than the exciting self-guided tours at the Waquoit Bay Reserve in Falmouth, where admission is FREE Mondays through Fridays beginning in June and lasting throughout the summer! Between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., experience everything from the interactive Visitor Center where you’ll find water related exhibits and live creatures to the beautiful trails full of amazing views.

A great blog, highly informative and well written article. Cliched as it may sound, you cannot put a price on water testing and treatment. Water plays such an essential part to us as humans, so the importance of it cannot be understated. With technological advancements at the level they are today, water treatment is at an extremely high standard in the UK, and cost effective too. Great to see it global too.
