View Maia's BioCelebrate spring this week by getting outside! Staff at the Krug Sugarbrush in Chesterfield will offer Maple Sugar Tours during the week where you can learn about how maple syrup is made. Be sure to call a day in advance to reserve a tour.
If you like to skate, head over to Revere on Tuesday, March 20, from 11:30-1:30 pm for skating games on ice! Try out an ice sled, or rent skates to enjoy some fun ice games. This event is wheelchair accessible.
Hikers won’t want to miss the Middlesex Fells hike on Sunday, March 25th at 11am, a three hour guided hike through the beautiful Middlesex Fells reservation.
Several opportunities are in store for learning about wildlife this week. The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts is hosting a talk on Massachusetts Endangered Species Protection, which will be given by Environmental Review Manager Jon Regosin and will take place on March 22 at 5:30pm in North Adams.
Mass Wildlife staff will be participating in the 18th annual Westfield River Symposium, which will take place on March 24 at Westfield State College. Dr. Caleb Slater, MassWildlife Anadromous Fish Project Leader, will give a talk on migratory fish restoration in the Westfield River and will also lead an afternoon field trip to the West Springfield fish ladder. Dana Ohman, MassWildlife aquatic biologist, will give a talk called “Coldwater fish: What do they wish for?” The Westfield River Watershed Association is sponsoring this event.
