The Winter Farmers Market at Russell's Garden Center was a well planned and diverse market. I visited on opening day and was impressed with the thought and planning in creating this market. The support of MDAR in continuing to grow more winter farmers markets in MA is critical as the transition from outside to indoors often involves significant changes in regulation on a local level; which may still vary from town to town. I also visited the market in Natick, again well thought out. Full disclosure I run the Market in North Attleborough and was pleased to see that all 3 of these winter markets appear to be doing well, clearly the demand is there for high quality locally grown and produced foods. Winter markets are here to stay and it would be great if we could take a leadership role in setting the standard for the indoor winter farmer's markets. Thank You.
